The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, Palm Beach County, invites applications for a Help Desk Technician in its IT department. Requires an Associates degree in IT or related field with 3 years of relevant experience; or additional years in lieu of degrees.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Information Technology or related field with three years of relevant experience.
• Alternate: four additional years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; two additional years in lieu of an associate degree.

Responsibilities

• Responds to staff and customer requests for desktop support concerning hardware and software issues.
• Installs and configures new hardware, software, and upgrades on stand-alone and on-line systems to support business processes.
• Provides instruction to end users in maintenance and use of applications and hardware maintenance.
• Analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer problems related to hardware, software and network anomalies; coordinates repairs to minimize downtime.
• Identifies and resolves hardware and software issues via telephone, remote PC software, or on-site visits.
• Coordinates installation of office systems products and use of external service providers for repair and replacement of systems and peripherals.
• Makes site visits to branches and other locations to provide computer support; may drive to remote locations to deliver, pickup, install and/or troubleshoot equipment problems.
