Job summary

Great Lakes Academy in Pontiac, MI seeks a dedicated Full-Time Instructional Coach to enhance instructional practices and student outcomes. The role collaborates with teachers and administrators to foster continuous growth and development within the school community.

Qualified candidates have a valid Michigan teaching certificate or eligibility for alternative certification, plus 5+ years of teaching experience and a strong track record in pedagogy, data-driven instruction, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced credentialing.
• Michigan teaching certification is preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of teaching experience.
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, pedagogy and best practices.
• Data-driven instruction and knowledge of current educational trends.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to foster positive learning environments and collaboration.
• Proficiency with technology for instruction and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers to assess instructional practices and provide coaching.
• Design and deliver professional development aligned with goals.
• Analyze student data to identify areas for improvement and plan strategies.
• Support district curriculum initiatives and state standards alignment.
• Model effective instructional strategies and provide real-time feedback.
• Foster relationships with teachers, students and administration.
• Share resources and best practices to meet diverse learner needs.
• Help set SMART goals for instructional improvement.
• Continuously evaluate coaching effectiveness and adjust as needed.
• Mentor novice teachers and support professional growth.
• Assist with office operations and maintain documents.

Skills
