Job summary

Benton Harbor Charter School Academy is seeking an Instructional Coach to empower educators through targeted professional growth, improving instructional practices and student outcomes. You will collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify needs, provide personalized coaching, and implement evidence-based teaching strategies aligned with the charter contract.

As a lead mentor, you will train new and existing teachers in curriculum and literacy programs, monitor progress, and support

Qualifications

Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
Master's degree plus literacy coursework preferred.
Ability to analyze student data using technology.
Exemplary work habits and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Train all teachers on the curriculum used throughout the academy, including literacy programs when designated as Literacy Coach.
Monitor progress and evaluate student growth and proficiency.
Support the Academy leader by shaping instruction, culture, and climate.
Engage in reflective practice with teachers through observations and mentoring.
Keep detailed records of coaching sessions and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
Collaborate with literacy, math and reading interventions to align with curriculum.
Lead PLC meetings and participate in school improvement initiatives.
