Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking an Athletics/Activities/Assistant Coaching stipend position at Proviso East High School. The coach will assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating a competitive program for student-athletes under the Athletic Director.

The ideal candidate will have a teaching certificate or IHSA/NFHS certification, CPR/AED and concussion training, and strong instructional and collaborative skills.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois State Teaching Certificate or ASEP/NFHS Certification required.
• CPR/AED certification required; IHSA concussion training compliance.
• Background check and fingerprinting clearance required; Title IX training.
• Coaching certification through ASEP/NFHS/IHSA or IHSA-approved programs required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Head Coach to design drills, practice plans, and conditioning sessions.
• Provide individualized feedback on technique, effort, and sportsmanship.
• Assist with game-day logistics, equipment setup, and scorekeeping.
• Maintain inventory of athletic equipment and ensure safety protocols.
• Monitor adherence to IHSA rules, district policies, and concussion management.
• Support athlete eligibility tracking and required documentation.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
