Job summary

Kroger is seeking an energetic cashier/courtesy clerk to create an outstanding customer experience in-store. You will greet customers, assist with questions, and process transactions efficiently at the check lane while using the POS system and managing various payment methods according to company policy.

You will help maintain a safe, clean environment, follow ads and promotions, respect food safety guidelines, and support store leadership by handling duties with honesty and integrity.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, at the check lane.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss-prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
