Job summary

Roadrunner is hiring Freight Handlers to keep freight moving safely and efficiently at the Commerce, CA dock. You will execute high-precision loading/unloading, operate forklifts and related equipment, and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment in a fast-paced, high-throughput setting.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet throughput and quality goals across our Metro network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Forklift driver qualification required.
• Hazardous Material Training preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Experience in freight, logistics, warehouse, or LTL environments is a plus.
• Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain composure in a fast paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Execute high-precision freight handling: Load, unload, stack, and secure freight with accuracy and care to prevent damage.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently: Forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, and other equipment.
• Maintain dock flow and operational readiness: Transport freight between dock areas and storage zones; keep areas clean and hazard-free.
• Support cross-functional coordination: Communicate with leadership and supervisors; surface issues with clarity and urgency.
• Uphold safety, accuracy, and performance standards: Prioritize tasks to meet timelines without sacrificing quality.
