Job summary

Horizons for Homeless Children is a Boston-based nonprofit seeking a Float Teacher to supervise children across multiple classrooms and support a dynamic curriculum. The role reports to the Assistant Director and requires adherence to all Horizons policies in a busy Roxbury setting.

You will collaborate with supervising teachers, maintain health and safety standards, and communicate daily with families about child development and activities.

Qualifications

• EEC Teacher Certification required.
• 1 year (9–12 months) relevant experience preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in ECE preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children across multiple classrooms and follow Horizons policies.
• Contribute to curriculum design, promote age-appropriate activities.
• Maintain health, safety, and emergency procedures per policy.
• Communicate with families about child development and activities.
• Coordinate classroom transitions and maintain supplies.
