Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking an Registered Nurse to join the Floating Pool for Labor & Delivery/Mother Baby at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. The role involves working across departments to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining high clinical standards.

The Float Pool RN will provide care in a multidisciplinary team, support education and development, and assist in maintaining safety and quality across shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) OR Associate's Degree in Nursing OR Nursing Diploma program.
• Twelve months of Labor/Delivery/Mother & Baby clinical experience is required for Experienced Registered Nurses.
• All registered nurses without a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within seven years of their start date.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
• Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
• Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care.
• Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care.
• Participate in professional development and in performance improvement activities.
