Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool across Intermediate and Stepdown units in Durham, NC. This part-time role offers exposure to diverse patient populations while providing comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities.

Ideal candidates are team-oriented, adaptable, and committed to family-centered care and patient advocacy, with a BSN or equivalent nursing credential and at least 12 months of clinical nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) or an ADN or Nursing Diploma.
• Twelve months of recent clinical nursing experience required for Experienced RNs.
• All RNs without a Bachelor’s Degree must enroll in a BSN program within two years and complete within seven years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exemplary care across Intermediate and Stepdown units.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and participate in patient rounds.
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios (1:3 to 1:6, based on acuity).
• Support 24/7 unit staffing with Charge Nurses and care team members.
