Job summary

Qualifications

• PMAB or CPI training within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 6 months recent emergency room nursing experience.
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of patients from admission to discharge.
• Assess, plan, intervene and advocate for the patient with the care team.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and revise plan or refer as needed for discharge.
• Serve as role model and mentor to students and new nurses on the unit.
• Function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by supervisor/manager.
