Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary Specialist Teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This long-term sub assignment covers P&S (planning periods) for homeroom teachers, providing additional content support to supplement lessons.

Reports to: Principal/Head of School. The district aims for high expectations, equity, and strong instructional practices in a supportive environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Massachusetts Elementary 1-6 teaching license required.
• Authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.
• Must meet the Standards of Effective Teaching per Boston Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide interdisciplinary instruction aligned with state curricular frameworks.
• Implement district goals using district-supported curriculum.
• Create a developmentally appropriate, student-centered environment with routines and positive behavior supports.
• Establish classroom structure and positive relationships.
• Administer district mid-year and end-of-year assessments.
