Job summary

Over the Rainbow Learning Center is seeking a Support Staff (Floater) for our early childhood program serving children 6 weeks to 5 years old. You will float between classrooms, maintain consistent expectations, actively engage with children, and help keep classrooms safe, organized, and welcoming.

You will support CTELDS-aligned activities, follow health, safety, and supervision protocols, assist with daily routines, and build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience working with children in a group setting (preferred).
• CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role (lifting, standing).
• Must pass CT background check.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple classrooms while maintaining consistent expectations and structure.
• Actively engage with children throughout the day.
• Help maintain safe, organized, and fully functioning classrooms.
• Follow all health, safety, and supervision protocols without exception.
• Assist with daily routines, including diapering, meals, naps, and transitions.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Support curriculum implementation aligned with CTELDS.
• Maintain accurate communication using tools like Brightwheel.
• Uphold all center policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
