Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Critical Care Float Pool in Albany, NY. The role involves implementing physician orders, administering meds, starting IVs, and performing treatments in ICU/progressive care settings with compassionate care and active listening.

You will collaborate with the nursing team to plan care, interpret tests, and provide primary and emergency care, guiding ancillary staff while maintaining professional standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma/Associate/Baccalaureate)
• Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1–3 years RN experience in Progressive Care or ICU
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and time-management skills
• Knowledge of quality concepts and patient care quality improvement

Responsibilities

• Apply physician orders, administer medications, start IVs and perform treatments
• Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions
• Assess patient needs and responses to care; provide primary and emergency care
• Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care and guide ancillary staff
