Job summary

Albany Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Float Pool in Albany, NY. This role supports Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, CCU, Cardiovascular ICU and MSICU, with opportunities to gain competencies in ED care and neuro-progressive care.

You will implement physician orders, start IVs, administer medications, and collaborate to plan care. NYS RN license and BLS/ACLS required; 1–3 years Med-Surg/Progressive Care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS Registered Nurse license and maintain BLS/ACLS certifications.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills are essential.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of RN clinical experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.

Responsibilities

• Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments and tests, and documents care.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
• Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Directs and guides ancillary personnel and contributes to Plan of Care for all patients.
