Job summary

Church's Chicken is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook food products as directed by the Manager in Charge of the Shift, following the Operating Standards Manual. You will set up the batter table, prepare batter mix and ensure all food meets quality standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean work areas, checking equipment, stocking batter area, and assisting with holding times and safety procedures. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods.
• Able to lift 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sets up batter table, collects smallwares, and prepares batter mix.
• Ensures call sheets are complete, posted, and used.
• Checks equipment and reports malfunctions to the Manager in Charge.
• Color balances fryers and maintains shortening levels.
• Filters and cleans fryers following safety guidelines.
• Pans sufficient chicken for operational needs.
• Prepares and cooks food as directed by the Manager in Charge.
• Ensures food meets specifications and holding times.
• Maintains clean work area with clean-as-you-go practices.
• Verifies stock at batter area and keeps cooler organized.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by Manager in Charge.
