Job summary

City of Suffolk is seeking a Recreation Leader to assist in implementing and supervising a range of parks and recreation programs. The role includes helping with events, registering participants, handling fees, and enforcing facility rules.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, 1–2 years in customer service with adults and children, CPR & First Aid certification within six months, and a valid driver’s license. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with one to two years' customer service experience engaging adults and children.
• Must possess CPR & First Aid certifications within six months of employment.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in implementing recreation programs and activities.
• Supervise programs conducted in Parks and Recreation facilities.
• Plan and participate in events and committees.
• Perform routine administrative tasks and process paperwork.
• Register participants, collect fees, and enforce facility rules.
• Set up/takedown equipment, manage inventory, and distribute athletic gear.
• Assist with special events, flyers, and outreach.
