Job summary

The City of Richmond (CA) is seeking a part-time, seasonal Recreation Program Leader to implement and lead a variety of recreation activities for youth, teens, adults, and seniors. You will supervise facilities, events, leagues, and excursions, and provide guidance to groups in recreation activities.

Under supervision, you will support program coordination, staffing, safety, and reporting while promoting the City’s mission to enrich life through community programs.

Qualifications

• Twelve months of progressively responsible experience leading a variety of athletic and recreation activities (at least 1 year at Recreation Aide level).
• Equivalent to high school completion with college-level courses in recreation, physical education, sociology or related fields.
• Experience that demonstrates ability to lead recreation, sports, fitness, or diverse cultural programs.

Responsibilities

• Develops, schedules, and implements recreation activities per program goals.
• Coordinate and supervise facilities, events, leagues and excursions.
• Train and supervise part-time staff/volunteers; assist in program marketing and recruitment.

Education

High school diploma with college-level recreation/PE or related courses

Experience leading athletic/recreation activities

Ability to lead recreation, sports, fitness or cultural programs
