Job summary

The City of Powell is seeking enthusiastic Part-Time Recreation Program Instructors to lead classes in arts, fitness, STEM, youth enrichment, and other specialty programs, with flexible weekday, daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Responsibilities include planning engaging lessons, preparing materials, setting up spaces, supervising participants, ensuring safety, and delivering outstanding customer service to families and the community.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching, coaching, or instructing recreational programs is preferred.
• Ability to lead groups with confidence and professionalism.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging recreation classes in arts, fitness, STEM, youth enrichment, or sports.
• Prepare lesson plans, materials, and activities for a positive learning environment.
• Set up and clean up activity spaces before and after classes.
• Supervise participants and ensure safety at all times.
• Communicate needs and schedule updates to the Parks & Recreation Supervisor.
• Provide excellent customer service to participants and families.
• Support departmental programs and events as needed.
