Job summary

Loudoun County Government is seeking Recreation Instructors to deliver arts, crafts, music, dance, cooking, sports, camps, wellness, STEM and other programming to diverse community groups.

Successful candidates will demonstrate effective communication and planning skills, and will work within flexible schedules including mornings, evenings, and weekends to serve youth, adults, seniors and participants with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Effective communication and planning skills.
• Ability to motivate participants and manage class dynamics.
• Flexible schedules including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Motivates class participants and upholds policies while teaching classes.
• Prepares for class with setup and breakdown of equipment and materials.
• Instructs and monitors participants, ensuring proper form and safety.
• Completes administrative responsibilities for developing, planning, and leading classes.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for participants and staff.
• Promotes and recruits new participants and provides excellent customer service.
• Stays current with industry standards and trends.
• Communicates effectively with staff and patrons.
• Participates in monthly meetings, events and trainings.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
