Job summary

The City of Las Vegas invites applications for Instructors to teach specialty classes at community centres. Instructors must have experience and knowledge in their area of expertise and will be assigned to multiple program areas as needed.

The position is hourly and part-time, with schedules limited to 19 hours or less per week. Essential duties include providing advanced instruction, greeting participants, preparing curriculum guidelines, handling equipment setup, and conducting roll calls.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write at a level sufficient for successful job performance.
• Experience in planning and delivering recreation, cultural and leisure classes.
• Experience with adaptive recreation programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced instruction to participants registered in classes.
• Greets participants and conducts facility tours.
• Explains facility programs to participants.
• Sets up and takes down equipment for programs and events.
• Prepares curriculum guidelines for proposed classes.
• Prints Activity Role Sheet and conducts roll call.
• May supervise and coordinate other instructors as needed.
• Duties may vary based on the assigned department.
