Job summary

SLO Classical Academy is seeking engaging, reliable substitute teachers to cover classes at all levels, from kindergarten to high school. In this role, you will take over for teachers in their absence, followingLesson plans and ensuring students have a fulfilling classroom experience.

The ideal candidates will have substitute-teaching experience and the ability to lead a class in an orderly fashion. The position offers consistent work throughout the district and an opportunity to support student

Qualifications

• Teaching experience required.
• Teaching certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans to provide a cohesive and consistent learning experience.
• Manage the classroom to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each student.
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom.
• Provide in-class assignments based on available lesson plans.
• Familiarize yourself with SLOCA’s emergency protocols (fire drills, lockdowns).
• Record attendance according to school procedures.
• Compile a report for the regular teacher detailing attendance, progress, disciplinary actions, and positive developments.
