Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Claims Coordinator to join the Quality and Technical team across mill sites in West Point, Covington, Evadale, Mahrt, or related offices. You will own end-to-end claim processing from initiation to resolution, coordinating with sales, mills, service, logistics, and accounting to protect customer relationships and company assets.

Responsibilities include assessing complaints, calculating claim values, authorizing returns, recovering losses from third parties,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field.
• Demonstrated customer focus and service orientation.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred.
• Experience in the paper industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle all claim-related activities from initiation to resolution.
• Collaborate with sales, mills, service, logistics, and accounting.
• Assess complaints to determine validity and required actions.
• Calculate claim values, severity, and financial risk.
• Manage returns and recover losses from third parties.
• Maintain records and provide regular communications to customers and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
