Kohl & Cook, a growing Ohio civil litigation law firm serving Dayton, Centerville, Columbus, and Central Ohio, seeks an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys through all stages of litigation. The role emphasizes independent work, strong organization, and timely filings across Federal and State courts.

The ideal candidate will draft and edit legal documents, manage case files, conduct legal research, and coordinate with clients and witnesses while handling trial and hearing

Qualifications

• Experience as a civil litigation paralegal.
• Ability to draft, edit, and format legal documents.
• Strong organizational skills and familiarity with court rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Managing attorney calendars and case files, tracking deadlines, and ensuring timely filings.
• Drafting, editing, and formatting legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, affidavits, and other documents, for review by attorneys.
• Accurately filing legal documents in Federal and State courts.
• Organizing and archiving evidence and other documents in active cases according to the firm’s naming conventions and document management practices.
• Professionally communicating with clients, colleagues, counsel, and court personnel via phone, email, and in person.
• Assisting attorneys with preparation for various proceedings, including preparing exhibit binders and coordinating with witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Maintaining records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
• Assisting the office manager in the administrative operations of the firm and Columbus office.
• Managing multiple projects and following up to ensure deadlines are met.
