Job summary

Kroger is hiring for a Cashier/Checker at 2999 Waukegan Rd, Bannockburn, IL 60015. You will greet customers, process purchases, and operate the POS while handling multiple tender types and maintaining accuracy.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition, and subtraction.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies and act with honesty and integrity.
• Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs to appropriate department or store manager.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome by answering product questions.
• Follow local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a professional manner.
• Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
