Job summary

You will operate the POS, manage diverse tender types, and uphold checkout policies while maintaining safety and loss prevention standards. The position requires strong customer service, communication and basic math skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.

• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greeting and helping customers in a visible, engaging manner.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the POS system and manage cash, checks, cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss-prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and store safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; assist with maintenance as needed.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer questions about products and services.
• Follow local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced or stressful environment; manage conflicts calmly.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
