Job summary

Family Dollar in Fort Worth is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include assisting with daily store activities, helping customers, organizing merchandise, and supporting the Store Manager in training staff.

The role emphasizes maintaining store standards, inventory, security, and compliance with company policies while fostering a positive work environment and providing leadership to Store Associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing/walking, etc.).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
