Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning seeks aPart-Time Music Teacher to serve K–12 students across three CT campuses. The role uses music to support communication, social-emotional development, motor skills, and IEP goals, with instruction tailored to autism, intellectual disabilities, and behavioral and communication challenges.

Schedule includes mornings at multiple locations; proficiency in at least one instrument is required, along with comfort with AAC and collaboration with educators and therapists.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one instrument.
• Experience with AAC systems for complex communication needs.
• Familiarity with IEP processes and related service documentation.
• Strong collaboration with teachers, therapists, and teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and group music instruction aligned with IEP goals.
• Use music to support communication, motor skills, cognitive development, and social-emotional growth.
• Adapt lessons to meet diverse physical, sensory, cognitive, and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to support student progress.
• Track progress and maintain required documentation.
• Create a positive, structured, inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in school events, professional development, and other duties.
