Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning in Connecticut is seeking a creative Art Teacher to tailor instruction for students with autism, developmental disabilities and other needs. The role focuses on developing and implementing curriculum, providing individualized and small-group art instruction, and assessing progress.

Location includes Trumbull, Naugatuck and Stamford; qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and CT Art PK-12 certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree.
• CT Certification #042 Art PK-12 preferred.
• Knowledge of art standards and curriculum.
• Must have satisfactory background checks.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement art curriculum aligned with the school’s mission and students’ individual needs.
• Provide individualized and small-group art instruction using a variety of artistic mediums and teaching strategies.
• Assess student learning and progress and adapt instruction, accommodations, and interventions as needed.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Select, order, and maintain art supplies and equipment to support instruction.
• Collaborate with the educational team and participate in required training and professional development.

Aspire Living & Learning is currently seeking a creative and dedicated Art Teacher to provide specialized art instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with autism, developmental disabilities, and other disabilities. The Art Teacher will develop and implement curriculum, provide individualized and small-group instruction, assess student progress, maintain a positive learning environment, and collaborate with the educational team.

This position will work one day per week at each location

Locations: Trumbull, CT; Naugatuck, CT; Stamford, CT
