Job summary

Learning Through an Expanded Arts Program (LEAP) is seeking a Group Leader to support after-school and special programs, delivering arts, sports, and STEM activities to youth. You will help maintain safety, follow lesson plans, and assist in supervising groups to ensure a positive, enriching experience.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year of youth experience. Pre-employment screening is required; LEAP is an equal opportunity employer and does not sponsor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children and/or youth in a professional setting
• Strong ability to form and maintain positive, professional relationships with children, youth, families, and other stakeholders
• Able to set an example in all areas, including timeliness, attendance, and professionalism
• Pre-employment screening is required, including criminal history checks as needed

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage program participants with the goal of fostering positive youth development
• Prepare materials and space for various age-appropriate activities
• Assist with planning, development, and implementation of various activities & events
• Support effective classroom management and contribute to a positive environment by being adaptable, modeling positive behavior, promoting teamwork, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment
• Attend staff meetings, professional development opportunities, training sessions, and special events to enhance knowledge and skills, as required, inclusive of those outside program hours
