Job summary

Learning Through an Expanded Arts Program (LEAP) is seeking Group Leaders to work with students in afterschool and special projects, delivering arts, performance arts, sports, and/or STEM activities. This on-site role emphasizes safeguarding, teamwork, and positive youth development.

You will support Activity Specialists and Teaching Artists, supervise groups, prepare materials, and help implement lesson plans while maintaining a welcoming, inclusive environment for children of diverse

Qualifications

High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience working with children and/or youth in a professional setting.
Strong ability to form and maintain positive, professional relationships with children, youth, families, and other stakeholders.
Able to set an example in all areas, including timeliness, attendance, and professionalism.
Ability to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.

Responsibilities

Supervise and engage program participants to foster positive youth development.
Prepare materials and space for activities.
Assist with planning, development, and implementation of activities and events.
Support classroom management and contribute to a positive environment by being adaptable, modeling positive behavior, promoting teamwork, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Attend staff meetings, professional development opportunities, training sessions, and special events to enhance knowledge and skills, as required, inclusive of those outside program hours.
