Job summary

LEAP (Learning Through an Expanded Arts Program) is seeking passionate Activity Specialists for long-term teaching opportunities at partner schools across NYC. Ideal candidates have arts experience and a commitment to experiential learning in after-school, summer programs, and special projects.

You will lead hands-on activities across Art, Dance, Gardening, Cooking, Sports, and Chess, collaborating with school staff to support youth development and safety.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience working with youth in a classroom or group setting.
• Experience instructing youth in the arts.
• College degree in the Arts or Education, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity working with Students with Disabilities and English Language Learners
• Passion for inclusion and advocacy in the arts.
• Must pass NYS SACC clearances and background checks

Responsibilities

• Work with program staff to prepare & develop age, and skill appropriate activities (STEM, dance, visual arts, etc.).
• Engage participants in developing their artistic, educational, & leadership skills.
• Ensure safety & security of all participants and compliance with policies.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development and events to enhance knowledge and skills
