Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering such as chemical, fire protection, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in chemical or mechanical process design, combustible dust hazard analysis, explosion protection, process safety, or industrial risk consulting across industrial or manufacturing facilities.
• Professional Engineer licensure is preferred.
• Ability to interpret building codes, fire prevention codes, and NFPA standards; develop alternative methods or equivalencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead or review Dust Hazard Analyses and related risk assessments.
• Develop practical fire and explosion mitigation strategies involving venting, suppression, isolation, containment, detection, or controls.
• Evaluate inventories, SDS, P&IDs, flow sheets and drawings to identify hazards and safeguards.
• Mentor junior engineers, review deliverables, and communicate defensible technical recommendations to clients.
