Job summary

First American is seeking certified residential real estate appraisers located within the Duluth, MN area to provide objective valuations of residential properties. You will inspect properties, document data with on-site notes and photos, and prepare appraisal reports in line with USPAP and client guidelines.

The role requires proficiency in sales comparison, cost, and income approaches, as well as experience with MLS data and major form types.

Qualifications

• Analytical and narrative writing skills.
• Ability to analyze data and summarize results for diverse audiences.
• Strong communication, both written and verbal, across stakeholders.
• Detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task.
• Experience with REO appraisals and HUD/FHA preferred.
• Active Appraiser Certification and clean disciplinary record.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct unbiased residential real estate valuations following USPAP guidelines.
• Inspect properties, collect data, and document findings with photos, measurements, and notes.
• Utilize sales comparison, cost, and income approaches to value.
• Work with MLS data sources and major form types (1004, 1075, etc.).
• Collaborate with Senior Appraisers to ensure quality and improve processes.
• Attend monthly Appraiser meetings and meet department turn-time expectations.
