Job summary

First American Mortgage Solutions is seeking Certified Residential Real Estate Appraisers in the Duluth, MN area. You will conduct unbiased residential property valuations, inspecting sites and compiling reports that comply with USPAP and client guidelines.

You will use MLS and local data sources, apply all valuation approaches, and collaborate with senior staff to ensure quality and timely delivery. A valid state certification and strong writing skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must have active Appraiser Certification as required by state regulatory agency.
• Experience with USPAP and government regulations is preferred.
• Ability to work within varying client-driven requirements and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct unbiased valuations of residential real estate using market and property data and prepare USPAP-compliant appraisal reports.
• Inspect residential properties on-site and document data with photos, measurements, sketches, and notes.
• Consider factors influencing value including legal characteristics, market conditions, and locational factors.
• Proficient with sales comparison, cost, and income approaches to value.
• Proficient with MLS and local real estate data sources.
• Proficient with major form types (1004, 2055, 1073, 1075, 1025, Review Forms).
• Collaborate with Senior Appraisers and Appraisal Helpdesk to ensure quality at an assignment level.
• Participate in monthly Appraiser meetings.
• Meet department turn-time expectations and escalate if deadlines may not be met.
