Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a licensed School Nurse to provide comprehensive health services across paired schools and to maintain rigorous health records. The role requires emergency care, administration of medications, student counseling, and collaboration with service teams to support student wellness.

The successful candidate will sustain immunization compliance, conduct screenings, and participate in professional development and staff trainings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
• Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse.
• MA State Dept. of Education School Nurse License (All Levels).
• CPR & First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency medical care to students.
• Administers and/or supervises administration of prescription medication.
• Counsels and educates students on medical issues.
• Develops accurate medical summaries and records for students.
• Teaches health-related topics and survival skills.
• Monitors immunization compliance per BPS/DPH regulations.
• Conducts health screenings as required.
• Maintains health records and prepares reports.
• Represents medical input in evaluations and meetings.
