Job summary

The Boston Public Schools seek a School Nurse to provide skilled nursing care and manage the health needs of students across UP Holland 0.5 FTE and UP Dorchester 0.5 FTE. This role includes medication administration, immunization surveillance, and routine health screenings, plus emergency care as needed.

As part of the education team, you will interpret medical data, develop health plans for IEPs, promote student wellness, maintain health records, and collaborate with families and outside

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse.
• MA State Dept. of Education School Nurse License (All Levels).
• CPR & First Aid Certification.
• Experience working with children and adolescents in public school/agency/human services setting.
• Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
• Fluency in one of BPS' official languages is preferred (e.g., Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali).

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency medical care to students.
• Administers and/or supervises the administration of prescription medication to students.
• Counsels and/or educates students in small groups or as individuals concerning medical issues.
• Maintains adequate and updated health records.
