Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a School Nurse to provide skilled nursing care, manage students' health needs, administer medications, and conduct immunization surveillance and annual health screenings. The nurse may liaise with families, primary care providers, and outside facilities to support student well‑being and IEP health plans.

Responsibilities include emergency care, health education for students, maintaining health records, participating in service team meetings, and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Massachusetts RN license required.
• MA School Nurse License required (All Levels).
• CPR & First Aid Certification required.
• Authorization to work in the United States by start date.
• Experience working with children in public schools or related settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency medical care to students.
• Administers and supervises prescription medication administration.
• Counsels and educates students on health issues.
• Maintains accurate health records and health plans for IEPs.
• Collaborates with staff to deliver health education and trainings.
• Ensures immunization surveillance and health screenings are conducted.
• Maintains liaison with medical providers and service teams.
