Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a School Nurse to provide skilled nursing care and manage the health needs of students, including medication administration and immunization surveillance. The nurse will conduct health screenings, support IEP health plans, and collaborate with families and school teams to promote student wellness and a safe learning environment.

The role requires MA RN license, CPR/First Aid, and experience with pediatric populations in school settings.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license and MA School Nurse license.
• CPR & First Aid Certification.
• Experience working with children in public schools or similar settings.
• Knowledge of health data interpretation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency medical care to students.
• Administers and/or supervises the administration of prescription medication to students.
• Counsels and/or educates students on medical issues.
• Maintains health records and reporting formats.
• Develops health plans for students' IEPs and coordinates with families.
• Monitors immunization compliance per BPS/DPH regulations.
• Serves as a liaison with medical providers and schools as needed.
