Job summary

Waterford Dental Team in Michigan is seeking a cross-trained dental assistant who can handle both chairside support and front-office duties with warmth and professionalism. You’ll be the calm connector between patients and the practice, reassuring nervous patients and helping keep the schedule smooth.

Prior dental experience is required, and the role emphasizes accuracy in documenting insurance, taking radiographs, and assisting clinicians in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent.
• Proficiency in dental terminology, procedures and equipment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, empathetic patient relations and front-office support.
• Schedule appointments, manage patient flow and day-to-day operations.
• Check patients in/out with a welcoming demeanor and accuracy.
• Document patient financials and insurance with accuracy.
• Collect payments and assist with past-due balances respectfully.
• Perform chairside support and assist clinicians with treatment.
• Take digital radiographs and assist with charting.
• Sanitize operatories and maintain sterile environment.
• Assist with lab cases and inventory as needed.
