Job summary

McGraw Hill is seeking an Instructional Designer for Dual Literacy (ELA/SLA) to plan and develop instructional materials for programs delivered in print and digital formats. This remote role (PSW) can be based in a McGraw Hill office in the United States, with an end date of 2027-08-31.

You will contribute to manuscript reviews, storyboards, and alpha/beta digital assets, including English/Spanish QC, build documentation, and accessibility. Strong collaboration in an Agile setting is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or related field.
• Experience working with Spanish-language materials; prior K-5 teaching experience is a plus.
• 1-3 years' experience in digital content development including teaching/learning materials.
• Experience handling multiple projects with tight deliverables and budgets.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Experience with authoring tools, LMS, and CMS; ability to create/visualize interactive digital content.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI, and their instructional design applications.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to concept meetings, review manuscripts, create storyboards, and contribute during alpha/beta builds for digital assets.
• QC English and Spanish digital assets and meet intermediate/final schedules.
• Develop build documentation, guidelines, and review vendor work; identify workflow efficiencies under senior leadership.
• Work on metadata tagging, concept mapping, script go-bys, and digital editing.
• Provide informal training to associate instructional designers.
• Apply accessibility expertise throughout product development.
• Participate in Agile program planning, curriculum mapping to meet timelines and goals.
• Support digital launches with vendors by creating templates, guidelines, trackers, and reviewing work.
• Create POCs and initial prototypes to support iterative development.
• Participate in user testing by taking notes and providing context under management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot tools/platform issues and suggest digital solutions.
