Job summary

The Complex Chief Engineer at SPIRE Hospitality oversees maintenance for two Birmingham properties, ensuring safety, efficiency and guest comfort. You will lead the maintenance teams, manage energy programs and coordinate repairs across guest areas and back‑of‑house spaces.

Qualified candidates have at least three years in hotel maintenance, strong MS Office skills, and a background in building systems. Flexibility for days, nights, weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade school or maintenance certification preferred.
• Hotel or customer service experience required.
• Minimum three years in hotel maintenance or related field.
• Experience as a head or assistant chief engineer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance operations for two properties.
• Assist guests with room calls and troubleshoot concerns.
• Maintain the property's condition to high standards.
• Implement energy management and preventative maintenance.
• Direct routine maintenance in public spaces, meeting rooms, outlets and back-of-house.
• Coordinate repairs and renovations in guest areas, offices and team spaces.
• Foster collaboration across departments including Front Office, Security, Sales, Housekeeping, and F&B.
