Job summary

Howard Community College (HCC) seeks a Dual Enrollment Academic Coordinator to serve as a program pathway liaison for students and families, guiding academic planning and dual enrollment opportunities. You will develop outreach strategies, present information sessions, and collaborate with faculty and external partners to support student success in dual enrollment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Three years of experience working with high school or college student populations.
• Two years of dual enrollment experience.
• Excellent oral (public speaking), writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent time management and ability to monitor several tasks concurrently.
• Excellent technology skills; MS Office, Datatel’s Colleague (or similar student system), digital imaging software, communications management, social networking, and other software applications strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in CRM and Ellucian products.
• Bilingual skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provides academic advising to currently enrolled dual enrollment students on program planning and scheduling.
• Travel to partner high schools to provide on-site support and advising.
• Support student success, persistence, retention, and completion of the Middle College Cohort.
• Coordinate information sessions and outreach for dual enrollment programs.
• Assist with student progress records related to tracking course success and program completion.
• Assist with outreach strategies for targeted populations and pre-enrollment support for prospective students.
• Serve as a point of contact for dual enrollment information to community constituencies.
• Work with high school counselors to support college matriculation.
• Respond to inquiries about the college’s programs and services for students, parents, schools, and organizations.
• Participate in committees to support student academic standing and outcomes.
• Communicate with students about course standing and referrals to college support.
• Attend workshops and professional development to update knowledge.
• Collaborate with leadership on data-based decisions for program changes.
• Engage with student success staff to support strategic initiatives.
• Support collection of dual enrollment data (retention, outcomes, completions).
• Develop onboarding, orientation, transition, and college-success programming for dual enrollment.
