Job summary

University of St. Thomas in Minnesota seeks an Associate tenure-track faculty member to serve as the DSW Program Director for the School of Social Work. This 9-month faculty appointment with administrative compensation extends to 12 months and begins August 2027.

The role includes teaching, advising, and leading accreditation and curriculum development. Grounded in social justice and Catholic social thought, the program emphasizes health equity and preparing professionals for impactful practice.

Qualifications

• PhD (U.S. or foreign equivalent) or DSW in social work with minimum 2 years post-MSW practice.
• Record of teaching and scholarly achievement; potential for expedited tenure review.
• Administrative/management experience in an academic setting.
• Master’s degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Licensed in Minnesota or eligible for licensure within a year.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate doctoral courses and advise doctoral students (reduced teaching load).
• Lead DSW accreditation and program assessment processes.
• Innovate curriculum development and revision for the DSW program.
• Oversee academic program budget and provide forecasting to the Chair.
• Support recruiting, marketing, onboarding, and annual faculty evaluations.
• Represent the program to internal and external stakeholders.
