Job summary

New Communities is seeking a DSP Team Leader to support adults with intellectual challenges and other disabilities in Maine. This full-time leadership role involves supervising the direct care team, coordinating staffing, and guiding residents toward their service plan goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active Maine driver’s license is required.
• One year of experience in a healthcare setting and one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English.
• DSP, 40-hour CRMA, CPR/FA, and Behavioral Intervention Training required within 120 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the direct care team, addressing employee performance issues with the support of the Program Manager.
• Ensure safe and adequate facility coverage by coordinating staffing schedules.
• Assist residents in achieving their individual service plan goals, providing personal care and other essential support to enhance their quality of life.
• Offer assistance and guidance to clients and staff during crisis situations.
• Oversee all medication administration practices and procedures to ensure compliance and safety.
• Manage the intake and discharge process for residents, maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
• Work closely with guardians and approved external agencies to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
