Job summary

Gallagher Services - a Catholic Charities program, we seek a Direct Support Professional to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live vibrant, independent lives. You will provide quality living support across physical, social, behavioral, career, and personal areas in the community.

The schedule is Monday to Friday, 11 AM - 7 PM, and the role emphasizes person-centered planning, compassion, and building meaningful relationships while ensuring safety and continuity

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with 2 years of driving experience and ≤3 points.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and provide physical assistance.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training or willingness to complete.

Responsibilities

• Cook, clean, and do laundry for group members.
• Support community engagement and attend local events.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and build confidence.
• Keep clear, respectful records of care and support.

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is currently seeking a Sr. Direct Support Professional who will provides quality living support (physical, social, behavioral, career, and personal) to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) living and working in the community.

The work schedule: Monday to Friday 11 AM - 7 PM

Gallagher Services supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living the life of their choice. Adults are supported in living, working and being involved in the community as independently as possible. The Cornerstones of the program are Person-Centered Planning and the mission and values of Catholic Charities.

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

How You’ll Support

• Help by cooking, cleaning, laundry


• Support community engagement, whether that’s a walk in the park, or attending a local events.


• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self


• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old


• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points


• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs


• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed


• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)
