Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional who will provide quality living support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community. The role emphasizes person-centered planning, independence, and respect for each person’s goals.

The position is part-time, on-site, with weekday afternoons from 3 PM to 8 PM in Parkville, MD. Join a team dedicated to meaningful, dignified living and trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.

Responsibilities

PAY RANGE: $20 - $23.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience and certifications)

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is currently seeking a Direct Support Professionalwho will provides quality living support (physical, social, behavioral, career, and personal) to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) living and working in the community.

The work schedule is: Monday to Friday 3 PM - 8 PM

Gallagher Services supportsadults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living the life of their choice.Adults are supported in living, working and being involved in the community as independently as possible. HowYou’llSupport:

• Offer encouraging verbal prompts and gentle reminders that support the person in staying focused andinitiatingtheir daily tasks, while honoring their pace and preferences.
• Support the person in building confidence and skills to manage their money and make informed, independent purchasing decisions.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

MinimumRequirements:

• Mustbe at least 21 years old
