Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them engage in activities they love and pursue personal goals. The role includes weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday 3 PM - 11 PM) and fostering meaningful connections in a compassionate, trauma-informed program.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care with dignity and independence.
• Assist with meal preparation and encourage healthy eating.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speech.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build confidence and self-esteem.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care.

PAY RANGE: $19.50 - $20 per hour (Depending on years of experience)

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

The work schedule is: Saturday and Sunday 3 PM - 11 PM

A Day in the Life:

• Listening to music


• Going out to eat


• Going shopping


• Going bowling


• Watching family feud and Dr. Phil


• Visiting the library

How You’ll Support:

• Support with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care in a way that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.
