Job summary

The Arc of Opportunity in Worcester, MA seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a full-time role. You will work with individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being in daily activities.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 9am–3pm (30 hours). Compensation starts at $20.81 per hour, up to $21.85 with MAP certification. Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, paid time off, and a 401(k) with employer matching.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED required.
• Active and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to lift to 50lbs and sustain periods of sitting or standing.
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed.
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health preferred.

Essential Job Functions:

• Actively Advocate for individuals served demonstrating the Agency’s values and mission in all interactions
• Leveraging your knowledge and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life
• Implement Individual Service Plans
• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily living, including household tasks and chores
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van
• Present in a respectful and professional manner in all interaction
• Attend all trainings and implement knowledge throughout your work
• Communicate in an effective manner whether orally or written
