Job summary

The Arc of Opportunity is seeking Direct Support Professionals in Massachusetts to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to reach their fullest potential. This full-time role supports daily living, implements ISPs, and assists with appointments and transport.

Compensation includes $20.81/hour or $21.85/hour with MAP Certification, plus a $1,500 referral bonus, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and 401(k) matching. Opportunities for training and advancement are available.

Qualifications

• Active driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.
• Experience or comfort with behavioral health or substance abuse contexts.
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals served in line with agency values.
• Assist with daily living activities and appointments, including driving the agency van.
• Implement Individual Service Plans and document progress.
• Attend trainings and communicate clearly in written and spoken form.

Schedule

Monday-Friday-6 AM-9AM=15 Hours

Essential Job Functions

• Actively Advocate for individuals served demonstrating the Agency's values and mission in all interactions
• Leveraging your knowledge and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life
• Implement Individual Service Plans
• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily living, including household tasks and chores
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency's van
• Present in a respectful and professional manner in all interaction
• Attend all trainings and implement knowledge throughout your work
• Communicate in an effective manner whether orally or written

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED
• Active and valid driver's license
• Ability to pass background checks
• Ability to lift to 50lbs and sustained periods of sitting or standing
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health preferred
