Maxim Healthcare Services in Pittston, PA is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and the community. This role helps clients develop life skills, maintain independence, and participate in community activities.

As a DSP you will work closely with individuals and families, document services, and report changes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous DSP, caregiver, home health, behavioral health, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Compassionate, reliable, and committed to helping others succeed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to individual needs.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record preferred.
• Ability to pass required background checks and employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support in the individual's home and community settings.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills.
• Accompany individuals to community outings, appointments, recreational activities, and social events.
• Encourage participation in community integration and engagement opportunities.
• Assist with medication reminders and health-related needs as directed.
• Promote a safe, positive, and supportive environment.
• Document services provided and report any concerns or changes in condition.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with individuals and their families.
